Material Variations

The following materials have been tested:

  • Spruce
  • Limba
  • Multiplex
  • LSL Timberstrand
  • SAUERLAND stile & rail material HVA 

Climate test

Specimen

 4 stiles at a time - not glued to each other - were skinned with 3 mm HDF and fixed in the test opening by a flexible putty. 

Test

The samples were exposed to a differential climate of 35% rh and 65% rh at 20°C. 

The grade of distortion after 96 h and the expected subsequent distortion are especially important.
